Professor Assem Tharwat earned his master’s degree in mathematical Statistics and his bachelor’s degree in mathematics from Cairo University, Egypt, and his Ph.D. in Operations Research from Charles University, Czech Republic. He accumulated more than 40 years of academic experience in different universities in both public and private sectors in Egypt and the UAE. He taught both basic and advanced courses in many fields including Operations Research, Mathematics, Statistics and Management Sciences. During the past 25 years, Professor Assem supervised more than 50 Ph.D. and M.Sc. theses, he published more than 110 articles in International/National Journals and conferences, and in addition he attended more than 100 international and national conferences. Professor Assem has more than 15 years of experience in the accreditation field in Egypt and the UAE, moreover he has been working as a member in the AACSB team for almost 5 years in AUE. Professor Assem has a profound experience in the academic positions for more than 20 years and he served as a Dean in the Canadian International College in Egypt and the College of Business Administration, AUE, UAE. He was also an Interim Dean of the College of Computer Information Technology, AUE, UAE, and he also served as a Vice President for Research in the American University in the Emirates.
