Dr. Zaffar Mueen
Professor - Economics
Professor Zaffar Mueen has been with Synergy University Dubai since 2023. He received a Master’s degree and a PhD in Economics from Kansas State University, USA. His work experience revolves around research, teaching and teaching management since 1983. Professor Zaffar Mueen has published more than 40 research articles in international journal and books and worked on different projects with the World Bank, Asian Development Bank, ILO, IMF, UNFPA, UNDP, IFPRI, UNICEF, UNHCR Johns Hopkins University and IFC. He has participated in more than 50 conferences and seminars around the world. Professor Zaffar has won prestigious position of visiting scholar in IMF research department through worldwide competition by Global Development Network/IMF and World Bank. He worked in IMF headquarters under the supervision of Professor Kenneth Rogof (currently Professor of Economics at Harward University). He served as Dean at the American University in the UAE and Vice Chancellor of the Punjab University. He also worked as a Director General of Policies in the Government of Pakistan and a Member of Advisory Committee of the Prime Minister office.
